What were once just words and designs on paper are now set in stone forever. Carving the first letter of the selected text by Mark Knopfler from the world famous ‘Brothers In Arms’ song is now a fact. This historic event took place July 15, 2020, at the workshops of ‘Van den Weghe’ in Zulte, where Stéphanie Busard of ‘De Lettermakerij’, Ostend, showed her extraordinary skills with great interest. This was the first phase. The durable and beautiful plaques of Belgian hard stone are now being transported to Ostend, where Stephanie will again work her magic and give it the finishing touch.

There’s so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones
But it’s written in the starlight
And every line in your palm
We’re fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

As quarantine and confinement restrictions continue to rule the world, hopefully there is somewhere not too far ahead where there are the beginings of a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Therefore, with this in mind, we’d like to invite you to revisit an enhanced version of the Live Coverage of the recent Anzac Lockdown Day 2020 at the Brothers-In-Arms Memorial Park.
A special “Thank You” goes out to our renowned Garden and Landscape Architect, Andy Malengier, who’s vision resulted in this wonderful design, the first part of which, the 66 meter long main walkway, is now fully completed. This raised walkway symbolises the dividing line between the two worlds of the nations in conflict, a dividing line between war and peace, where the horror of war and the struggle for peace are each in themselves experienced at the end of the walkway. In addition, the long walkway also symbolises Jim’s desolate path.
After John died, Jim followed this inconsolable path for the remainder of his life until he was eventually reunited with his brother after his own passing.
The two intertwined circles at the other end of the long walkway symbolize the eternal union of the two brothers and that of all brothers who lost each other in all the many wars of our world.
Hope you enjoy this small commemoration and continue to support our ongoing project.
Not much of an introduction is needed to Paul’s powerful and crystal clear statement, recorded during our BIAMP Music Festival 2019.

Johan and Luc attending the Mark Knopfler & Band Live Concert in Antwerp, June 6, 2019. An unbelievable experience. Especially when they were able to offer some BIAMP-Merchandise to Mr. Knopfler. Was he so pleased that he played the ‘Brothers In Arms’ song ? Anyway, thanks Mark!
